Valentine, Cyril and Methodius
EPIPHANY 5
Today we celebrate the feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, brothers who devoted their lives to spreading the Gospel and creating a written language for the Slavic peoples. Their dedication mirrors the readings today: Solomon's reign brings unity and joy to Israel, while Jesus promises that sorrow will be transformed into joy. Just as Solomon was anointed to lead with wisdom, Cyril and Methodius were called to enlighten hearts through their missionary work. In this Ordinary Time, we are reminded that Christ's presence in our lives can turn our moments of sorrow into profound joy.
O Lord, grant us the wisdom to share your light in our world. May our hearts be filled with joy as we follow your path. Amen.
